I have the 08 LX570 with 18's and KO2 285/65/18. I have done some great wheeling and I'd love some sliders so I can head out and not worry about traversing rocks.

I spoke to someone who said they can rip out the AHC and put a lift on the truck but that doesn't work for me because my garage at work is 6'5" and I have about an inch to play with. If I use the AHC to lift the truck I wouldn't be able to park at work.

Does anyone make sliders that work with the AHC on the truck? Has anyone done this?

I really don't believe anyone has done a removal of the AHC just yet. The system is too integrated into the vehicle.

@sleeoffroad has created a slider solution that is being fielded now. I believe he is looking to produce that as well as his 200 bumper soon.

Christo has noted that you will need to replace the 570 'lower panel' with an LC version to accommodate the sliders.

He's mentioned that removal of the AHC on the 570 looks to be a bigger unknown than on the 470, as it's more tightly integrated with the rest of the electronics.

@txtortoise I'm excited to see his final product. Once he gives the thumbs up for the sliders and bumper we're planning a trip to Golden CO. We'll be doing the sliders, front/rear bumper, and winch installs. My wife really likes the look of the Line-X treatment another member did. So that will be in the lineup up as well.

*Edit due to phone typing...no laptop/computer for the next 4 days...eeekkk

I would love to see a slider solution that DIDN'T make you replace body panels! As of now our LX will only be seeing fire roads and my 100 series will remain my true off-roader.

Probably doable, but you probably wouldn't like it, as they would have to be under the current molded side-panel/step killing what clearance we have.

I wouldn't really call them body panels, the gcc cruisers we get here has the moulded side steps that the lx have, when I removed my side steps I had to order a pair of rocker covers that were approx $300 - $400.

1st pic is of the moulded sidesteps, 2nd are with the steps removed and 3rd is with the rocker cover installed.

Ok, so I understand. You need the LC parts to cover where the mounded steps come up on the fender wells. That makes sense but is still a bit of a pain, when the sliders will easily be a grand by themselves. Plus you then need to color match the new LC parts to the faded LX color to look right. I can see this option adding up fast.

Almost as much as saying, "Hey, let's put a tent on the roof, so I don't have to sleep on the ground..."

Yeah,

What we need is a way to trick the AHC to stay in the raised position to provide 11" of ground clearance at speed.

When I checked the US prices I was a little shocked as it was around double the price I paid, I only did a sidestep delete and months later put on the rocker covers which is why I didn't have to think about the cost.

What you could try "unfortunately works better with black" is unbolt the side steps and see what it looks like, if the exposed panel doesn't look too bad you might be able to slap a slider on and leave it like that.

I think I saw an lx somewhere on the forum with sliders if I can find that at least it can be confirmed there is a set that would bolt up.

Hi, how much did your snorkel cost to install? Thanks.

Snorkel: approx $330
Installation: approx $220
To bad he isnt here in UAE, I have like 30 pcs of the Ironman and another 15 of the safari ones here i'll sell off at cost.

I am also interested in this option for the LX. it would seem that since non north america LC's have AHC as an option, someone outside of NA may have found a solution for this. any ideas anyone?

Hi guys, longtime lurker and former 100 series owner that's now considering a 200 (and leaning towards an LX) - at this time, is there really no solution for a permanent lift for any LX570? That's not a deal breaker but I want to go into this eyes wide open.

Luckily I happen to be in CO and will no doubt go visit Slee for bumpers and sliders when available, but it would also be good to understand what the current clearance limits are. Thanks!

There's always hope someone (any thoughts, @slee / @cruiseroutfit ) will figure out a way to trick the AHC to stay raised :D

I purchased my vehicle in May, I switched from 285/50/20 to 285/70/17 on my 2013 LX. I looked at 295/70/17 but the 285/70 just rubs at full lock so 295 will require modification of the wheel well to fit, and you only gain 7mm of sidewall.

The 285/70/17 is 4.5% larger than stock diameter and gives you approximately 9.6" of ground clearance at standard height.
