Hey just checking to see who else is on their waiting list and if anyone has heard anything. I was put on the list several months back and wondering if there is just not enough interested parties yet for them to manufacture another batch.

I spoke with Christo Slee this afternoon to order a pair of sliders for my '18 LC. He said they're at the powder coater now, and should be ready in two weeks. Great news!

Fred, those were the 200 series sliders, not LX570.

We ran into a snag with those on who can manufacture them. The issue is the specific tooling to get the channel formed. We are working on getting them back in production, but right now I do not have a firm date.

I stand corrected. Didn't realize there's a difference. Best of luck with the LX570 sliders! Thanks, Christo.

Damn. SO you're saying I should begin thinking of other potential birthday asks for my March birthday? I think October was when I put my name down.

Do you currently have sliders available for the 200 series (2009)? If I were to order this week approximately how long for delivery?

Thanks,

Have they solved the problem of leaving all the AHC parts exposed?

I would not state it quite like that... As far as I can tell, there is no "solving" except perhaps to somehow armor the accumulators, although they are mostly protected by the sliders. At least Slee made some sliders that fit the LX so that is probably as good as it gets. I was going to buy a 2015 LX and my plan was to get the Slee's and then weld on some plates or posts or something if I thought it was necessary.

BTW, the tupperware and protection underneath it is tough. Just remember that you have to go out of your way to seriously damage even a stock LC/LX, which is what a lot of guys on the forum do, meaning drive very difficult, rated, 4x4 paths and choose hard tracks to test the limits of their skill and truck. I am armoring my LC, but probably wouldn't if I didn't intend to keep it forever and drive around Alaska and Mexico.

I agree with @Sedalia - I have the slee sliders and don’t feel that the AHC parts are vulnerable. I’d really have to do something stupid to jam something up there.

CBI equipped a 570 for SEMA this year and the sliders they built were full enclose. @mawlr ‘s truck:

Maybe others here can vouch otherwise...

...But I have yet to see *anything* from CBI that I would trust to adequately protect my heavy rig from trail damage.

Perhaps this has changed...but never been impressed with CBI strength. Seemed like style over strength.

Again... Open to otherwise if that has changed.

Also, it’s not like SEMA has a stellar reputation for presenting strength first.
Lots of style points...but all remember the damage-multiplier front bumper “braces(?)” from a SEMA 200 a few years back... Was silly...but got a lot of “that’s so cool” comments. :meh:

Their A pillar light brackets can handle anything you throw at your A pillar.

Glad to hear that.

CBI would win brownie points in my mind if they would at least quit cutting big holes in the shape of “CBI”...right where you want strength—like middle lower bash plate on bumpers, etc.

It’s just something I’ll never understand.
Lots of fab shops do this. Not just CBI.

And again...if they’ve Stepped it up from 3 or 4 years ago...great! They did buy out a decent roof rack company not too long ago.:meh:
