Wondering what Cargo Boxes folks have been able to fit on factory LX570 (pre 2016) racks and bars? What manufacturer, model and size? Any special mods needed? Photos?

Yakima Skybox 12. On OEM crossbars, the tailgate strikes back of cargo box, even with Skybox adjusted as far foward as possible. So raise rear of box on Yakima crossbars mounted to OEM side rails.

Skybox mounted to OEM crossbar. Tailgate spoiler strikes box.

Long and skinny so I can mount it along with 4 bicycles on 78" crossbars.

Looks great but that is on the LC200 factory rack (long). The LX570 is the ridiculously short rack.
Yes. I got the lc200 rack on Amazon for like $200 iirc. not oem, but it’s held up fine.

No pics to share, but I've had both a yakima skybox 12 and 16 mounted with stock LX rails. If you slide the crossbars as far forwards as they go and the mounting feet as far back, you should have just enough clearance to still open the tailgate. You do get a little bit of a diving board effect with the nose of the box however. I had no issues, but always had doubts until I swapped racks.

Just swap to the LC rack. It's cheap and easy. No reason not to imo. Allows for much better bar spacing and box positioning. I primarily use the 16 and it is notable more stable mounted to the LC rack than it ever was to the LX stock rack.
