Lx450 radio code?

The linked procedure has generally worked. Make sure you follow the instructions correctly. The radio MUST be displaying HLP/HELP before you can unlock it.

Of course it begs the question why you wouldn't take this opportunity to upgrade to a modern deck that has at least Ipod/USB input. Or maybe you have a huge collection of irreplaceable cassettes? :)

cheers,
george.

Yes, I agree. The previous owner had a Pioneer head unit with Bluetooth and I can hear Pamdora through it. You should seriously consider upgrading. Google maps is even piped through the radio speakers. I love it.
Cheers.

I agree on a new hu but for now I just want to listen to the radio.

On a Lexus what number should I be looking for?

On the tape deck door there is a p1706, I tried the code for 11706 to no avail

I wish I could help you, I never saw the original radio, wasn't included, just the new Pioneer Head Unit. Do you think CDAN might be able to shed some light? I know he's Toyota, but still might have come across this issue before. Good Luck. Cheers.

This is very old but did the codes ever get shared or found for the LX450, All the codes in the attached list referenced in the original thread are for the Land Cruiser model numbers as far as I can tell.

The LX450 I have is model number P1706 same as the LX450 referenced above.

I'm locked out going on two years, finally getting to some odds and ends and I think its time to get this thing turned back on.

so no action on this for the LEXUS LX 450 Pioneer Stereo? like no answer at all?

hey man. yeah, the problem is there is no info on the lx450. i think the other issue is the link you have shows key codes for two manufacturers for the LC radio. and i think the Lexus actually is made by a third radio manufacturer. so even trying the two LC codes in the LX is probably a non-starter since it is made by a totally different manufacturer(?).
i don't know. but i may just try to put the one in that i have at some point...

So, my old grandmaphone is locked - I have this collection of grandmaphone records that I want to play. How do I unlock the old unit?

j/k

Folk will upgrade all sorts of bits on their cruisers, but some want to retain the antiquated boat anchor that plays CD's and Tapes? Cackle cackle cackle...

As clearly shown on the back of the lexus unit in your picture, it was made by Pioneer. So the land cruiser unlock procedures in the linked threads will of course not be applicable...

cheers,
george.

hey man,
i wanted to follow up here and post images. the problem i am seeing is the other thread gives a lock out procedure explanation which is great. then the issue is to get rhe code the other sheet gives a six digit code but it only shows codes for FUJITSU TEN, PANASONIC, and DELCO.
then you need the MODEL NUMBER to find the lock out code.
but the Lexus stereo seems to be a PIONEER brand. i am not totally sure what the MODEL NIMBER is for these units but it seems to me that unless you can use one of the other brand codes you would need a code for this Pioneer unit.
you know what i mean?

yeah. this is the issue george.
i don't see how Toyota techs get around this if they disconnect a battery on an old lexus land cruiser. no one seems to know the code.
so maybe there is no lockout procedure on the Lexus unit? or your would think people would be asking about it more. no?
on the gramophone thing i just find it weird when people grind an ax about using the OEM system. especially in the Lexus. it's a great system.
then when people whinge about newer stereos (which i know you are not doing) i always a want to ask what they listen to at home. and then talk about my home setup which is definitely not the newest technology!
also in terms of fidelity the CD is the highest quality you can get in a car isn't it?
