If your factory RS300 security alarm system buzzer is no longer working(yes, believe it or not it's supposed to chirp when doors are locked/unlocked and alarm system is armed or unarmed) I found this deal on e bay. Was about to purchase on Amazon, but it's $23 there!

Just thought I'd pass this on. Btw, I have no affiliation with seller and I believe I read here on MUD that this model is a little louder.

Forgot to mention that the Floyd Bell brand is what came they came from the factory, apparently.

I just fixed my security system yesterday, including the buzzer. I did so by completely undoing that s*** by the roots and binning it!
Any good how-to-for-dummies guide you'd share with me? I'm dying to get rid of mine as well just didn't feel like messing with it after seeing that so many people were having issues with it not cranking on anymore..

Sure. It's a simpletons task really. I started because I was putting in the CDL switch and 7 pin mod so I needed a spot for the switch and used the security hole. This led to removing the rest in short order.

If you remove the kick panel and lower column trim, it's pretty easy from there. I'm sure you can remove the main unit itself from under the driver seat without removal but I removed my seat because it's easy and needed cleaning underneath anyway.

Simply start at the main control and unplug it, the follow the wire harness to the door sill and forward. You are simply unplugging all it's connectors as you go, most of which are tucked into the base of the front pillar. The harness acts as a Tee into the factory wiring, so after you unplug everything, the factory plugs then plug back into themselves as originally intended.

The only other bit is there are like 2 or 3 singular wires that tee tap into factory single wires you can just untap or cut and tape. You also can just cut the wires to the buzzer and then yank the wires through from under the hood. Done.

It's definitely one of those jobs with a great input to output ratio. Takes an hour and a few simple tools and after you get a nice rewarding pile of crap to look at that you know is no longer cluttering up your wiring.

10/10 will do again.

Thanks for the information. I just installed mine. After 10 years it finally works. No more staring at my parking or tail lights to verify it locks. Easy install unplug connector and a couple of female spade connectors.

At first it wasn’t working. Cleaned the terminals and a little dielectric grease and now works.

Can't wait to do this. Is the buzzer the round foam covered thing on the driver side of the engine bay near the firewall?
Yup, covered in foam.

Replaced mine today(the triple digit heat finally let up)and tried it out. I have beeping again.

Beeps once for unlocked and twice for unlocked. The way I remember it is I correlate the one beep as one word "Locked" and the two beeps as "Not locked". Maybe that can help someone else out. :meh:
