Thinking to take out half of my 3rd row seat.

Anyone have some pics handy of what it looks like the 3rd row seats removed in the LX?

Perfect! That looks to open up so much more room

Yep. Even taking one out makes a lot more useable space.

My friends with an LX and two big dogs couldn't believe how much it opened up the rear cargo area.

Was debating whether to do this ahead of a trip tomorrow. Screw it and jumped in. Shouldn't have hesitated as it took all of 8 minutes on the wall clock. Probably half that time if doing it a second time

1) Remove two plastic covers: rear cover, and side cover. Easy enough with hands, but a plastic pry could be handy.
2) Fold down seat enough to release upper lock
3) Unplug single harness at lower rear (seat ajar alarm will stop). Undo harness from guide.
4) 4x 14mm head bolts: 2 at rear bracket, 2 at forward bracket
5) Lift out (not as heavy as I thought)

Enjoy LOTS more space.

Thanks all!

Bumping this thread again. I have a 2020 LX 570. I'd like to remove my 3rd row, but need something to plug the holes in the wheel wells that won't look like poo. I've seen covers for 200 Series Land Cruisers, but not for the LX. Anyone find something for the LX. And please don't say drawers, I don't have any and don't want any.

I hate to be that guy but I’ll say it USE the search 😂.

Two options: Kaon makes metal covers with tie downs. Great pieces but you’ll pay shipping and tariffs from AUS.

Or one of the dudes on mud makes 3d printed covers he sells on Etsy, just search LC200 and they pop up.

I’ve wondered if one could use some Kydex sheets and dip in boiling water to mold the shape. Then some trimming to clean it up and hold it down with a bolt. 🤔

Edit: after some searching I am realizing that it takes a lot more heat to mold Kydex… maybe heat with a heat gun away from the vehicle plastics and then quickly drape it and cool it?

And I already did that.

That appears to fit the Land Cruiser, not the LX with the power 3rd row.

Again, that does not appear to the power 3rd row on the LX.

Am I missing something here? Granted I’m not an LX owner but I did stay at a holiday inn express.

The
Yes, it says LX. But I don't think it actually fits the LX. The opening on the LX appears to me to be different.

The interior panels that you'd be covering the hole in have the same part number between LC and LX other than the color differences.

Now the other seat mounts where they go through the carpet.. I do believe those holes in the carpet are bigger in an LX than a LC..
