Hey I messaged you, I'm in vancouver, WA. We should meet up and swap stories!

Could you please let us know how you tied in the engine harness into the vehicle harness? Di;ld you have the harness made?

Thank you.

The vehicle and engine harness are completely seperate...so no need to tie in. I had Howell (Howell Engine Developments Inc. :: Electronic Fuel Injection, EFI Harness, EFI Performance, Wiring Harness) build me the harness and program the ECU. Everything is pretty much plug and play.

From what I recall, the harness just needed 12V, Acc and a ground. In all honesty, it LOOKS more intimidating than it really is.

The one item that required some thought was the brake switch signal needed for the torque converter. The computer requires a 12V to be CUT when the brake is engaged. I used the brake light wire and a 5 pin relay to make this happen. So when the brakes are applied, it cuts 12V power to the ECU.

Hey MyTLC,

I got your message. You should come by Landcruiser NW one day I am down there. It would be a good opportunity to check out your rig, and have you meet Matt and Tony. Some may disagree, but they are by far the best LC shop in or near Portland.

Let me know if you have any interest.

So did you tie in the factory gauges? If so, how?

Thank you.

For the gauges, there is a way to utilize ALL of your stock gagues...however, I chose to go a different route as I wanted very accurate readings. Of the stock gauges, I am utilizing fuel, volt and spedo (calibrated for larger tires). On top of that, I am running a water temp and oil pressure Auto-Meters in a gauge pod on the A-Pillar. Additionally, I am running a tranny temp gauge molded into the center console. I also added a tach that is mounted to the steering column (not pictured below).

I don't work there, but the shop is owned by some very good friends...so I spend a lot of time down there. I'll be there for a while tonight working on a bumper (after 5:30)...but won't be there Wed.

The shop is in the industrial NW area...right off I-405 HWY 30 exit.

I think I know where it is, will you b down there on Thursday at all? I have that day off from work :)

димка,
cool swap, looks like every thing came together very nice. I started reading about v8 swaps a lot of info out there but so far i have not seen post on what sort of thing people had to do for the fuel pump and fuel related issues. Any info you can share?
Thanks
Alex.
