I'm getting all of the parts together to get his swap going, have the engine, transfer case adapter, and a few other odds and ends. My question is how should I do my clutch? That is the only part about this swap that I'm a bit concerned about given I've never really done anything with transmissions before. Any help is appreciated. Thank y'all!

The information you seek is all in this forum as this as has been documented on several builds over the last 15years, but the short answer (and best setup, in my opinion) as of 2026 is to use all 00-06 GM parts, including bellhousing and internal slave cylinder, and my Wilwood clutch master kit with 7/8" bore (link), and it will function perfectly with the pedal feel of a stock 2F setup.
My build thread from about 2023-on should be a good reference.

you'll also want my motor mount kit (link) and probably a few other things, if you want to connect with me I am happy to help you with a bundle deal on everything (as well as one-on-one support)

That master cylinder kit is something i wish I had done on the last nv4500 swap I did the place i got all the other parts including the rebuilt nv4500 claimed the 80 series master cylinder worked witch it does just have problems getting into 1st all the other gears goes right in witch is also weird.

definitely use the internal slave for your clutch. If you get a nice billet one with AN lines insted of the factory plastic style.... You need to be careful on which clutch pressure plate you use. One of them has little springs on the outer pressure plate cover. These springs will contact your slave cylinder and make a little clipping noise. You can just use the pressure plate cover without the springs to alleviate this or just use the oem style plastic internal slave
