Bolts from 4.88 are short enough, but I am not sure if during the turning or grinding (I don't know right nam in english :/ ) ring won't be overheated. Unfortuneatly I have to wait to long for paccage from US - turbo is almost instaled and we would like to make an remap (using ecumaster) on new gears. Was there any housing in LJ70 that fits to gears that I bought?
 
I maneged to turn it (7mm) and it fits to the axle, but it makes a funny noice (as I am rotating it I can hear as if pinion was "toutchig" the ring in the wrong way). Is 4.88 case moved not only to the side but also up or down?

which dropout does yours have? or I guess which inner pinion bearing are you running and how thick of pinion shim? Did you run a pattern yet?

I have installed 5.29 gears to the axles and added kkk k03 turbo to my 2.0 engine (boost is a bit over 9 psi) and now it's way faster. But is there any kit that lowers gears in the gearbox? I would like to have maximum speed at 5th gear around 180km/h (110mph). What I mean by maximum speed is around 6Krmp at 5th gear when going 180km/h.

based on the 804 views (as I write this) on this thread - i think there are a lot of people here who are interested in, but scratching their heads wondering, just what it is you are doing

as far as lowering gears in the gearbox - one answer is to not shift it into 5th (OD)

would it be possible for you to post up photographs of the buggy? this would in my opinion be very helpful

and just as an aside - what is the fastest speed you have taken the buggy to with the transfer case in low range (in other words - transfer in low range, tranny in 5th, engine redlined)

id almost be tempted to go back the other way on the axle gearing (4.11?) and put transfer in low range

or maybe go from 35's up to 37's or bigger, with transfer in low range (what is your engine redline?)

I'll post pictures in the evening, cause I am at work at the moment. I can't tell you the speeds - I didn't test the car with GPS. I'll try to heve my engine remapped, with new Supra Injectors, and bigger IC tommorow, but it depends on friend of mine who'll do it. Than I'll be able to tell you more details cause on stock injectors I had to raise fuell pressure wich isn't healthy for fuell system (metal fuell filter could't handle the preassure and started leaking).

I know that car looks a bit like pice of junk, but new IC needed more space, co we had to modyfie all front of the car and cut the hood

Looks like a perfectly road legal Polish 4x4 to me. :):):):):)

I wonder how they do it and get away with all the mods.

Damn that must be cold to drive in the snow :) I wouldn't want to open the door either.

Seen so many "road" legal Polish "Cars" in the RFC.

This car isn't totally legal. If police stops me they can take my Vehicle registration certificate and than I won't be able to get it back, cause I'd have to go to the "official" diagnostic station. However as long as I have it I can go to diagnostic station that isn't "official" (I don't know the name in english, but in poland we have two kinds of diagnostis stations - one of them are run by goverment, others are privat) run by my friend and get stump to my registration certificate, where it's writen that my car is Suzuki Jimny 1.3:D . We have so many "road legal" cars made of pipes, because if you want to start in any race in poland you are required to have car with plates and insurance.
It's not snowing all the time in poland - right now it's +2 Celsius:p. I am waiting for better weather, cause remapping engine on road covered with snow seemce to be at least stupid.
