Low speed Rattle? (1 Viewer)

hey HDC crew,

Wanted to ask the experts before I start digging around the LX450. I noticed the last 2 days a fairly loud rattle coming from underneath the front of the vehicle. Its sounds like an old kitchen vent fan. IT only happens at low speed, like when im backing out of drive way and when vehicle is cold, first start up of the morning etc. it also occurs with foward driving but only at very low speed. Trucks at 175k, what are your guys thoughts?

Couple of ideas:

- heat shields covering the two exhaust manifolds
- possible rocks stuck inside the cat converter heat shields

Try to replicate the sound with the hood open and power braking. Have someone listen for it and then use a stick to stop the rattling.
