Edit: Added some pics, including the original bill of sale.

I have a low mileage A440 that was rebuilt by Wholesale Automatic Transmissions in Australia in 2005, but it's only got a few thousand miles on it since the rebuild, according to the fella I bought it from.

I'd like to get $1300 for it, but I'll take a "best offer" It comes with a rebuilt torque converter. Neither the torque converter nor the valve body are the "extreme" or improved versions. This is a stock tranny.

I bought it about five years ago from another mudder in LA that bought it from Australia, installed it, then changed his mind and did a vortec conversion. I bought it because I thought my tranny was on its last legs because it had trouble shifting when it was cold, but it "cured" itself, and has been running perfectly ever since, so I kept this one in my garage thinking that after 245k miles, I would eventually need it. Well, now I'm about to undertake a vortec conversion so I don't need it as a spare any more.

Hi John,

2 questions:
Where are you located?
Would you take $800.00?

Eric

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply, I'm in San Jose, CA in need of a transmission for my FJ62.
Sorry for the low offer, funds are tight.

Good Luck!

Eric, did you see my other ad? If funds are tight, a used tranny is the way to go. I don't think you're going to get a rebuilt one for anywhere close to what you offered, at least not one that was done by a reputable outfit.

Wow, I want this! But it may be a year before I have the money. PM please with contact info.

Based on experience the seals are probably going to have to be replaced . Should have been flushed and had new fluid installed ,then all passages sealed. That's a lot of years of sitting. I'd be very surprised if the valves are not stuck. If you drop your price I'd be interested as a rebuilder. Mike

Hi John,

I need to ask, is this tranny still available?
