Great looking rig. Is the cooler powered by the AC system or is it electric? What is the switch next to your high/low rear heat?

Thanks

Says Landcruiser on the bar itself, prolly factory??

Kewl looking light mount on front bumper. Who makes that? Looks like it bolts right where the factory bumper bolts are.

Like a soft plastic coregated unit to allow air flow around and under what ever your cooling.

Whats that in the bottom of the ice box?? mine doesn't have anything like that!

:)

You have the twin of my ride with the exception that mine was converted to right hand drive. I've long been wanting to see what changes were made to mine. Would it be too much to ask for pictures of your steering geometry ?

Yip, normal or sport. Radd Cruiser can you notice any difference between the two settings? I don't think I can....

No noticable difference, looking for some kind of hook up to the shocks, so far unable to see anthing????

Radd Cruisers,

Thank you for the accomodation. My steering geometry appears to be the mirror image with what is in your picture with similar angles. It's different when you see a picture as against a verbal description.

Your description of the vehicle's performance is as my experience. I expect that once you leave the city, you'll experience the marvelous economy of the 1HD-T.

I have already took it for a short ride off road, it performs better than I ever expected.

Just plain like the growl of that inline turbo-d six, nothing better in my books.

Yur very welcome for the photos, not a problem.

Looking forward to the 24 valve FT motor one day, think they came in around 1995, just a couple more years.

I noticed you front brakes have a directed vent on the splash guard. Are the brakes (calipers, rotors and master cylinder) the same as North American spec fzj80's? Thanks

HDJ 81, yes sir its my third 80 series and my first turbo diesel, to say the least I am more than pleased with the performance.

It is quite punchy, between 40MPH to 65MPH it has surprising get up and go, without even dropping a gear.

Big difference between the gasser and the diesel is the immediate throttle response, mostly due to the torque I would guess.

Two cool items on my Limited VX, it has a cooler or icebox between the front seats, second item is the cool little butten which retracts the mirrors for off roading.

Comes with diff lockers and dash mounted centre locking differential?

Koooool

Pics tomorrow when its light out.

Rob

The side mirror retract also acts as a tiny miniscule protection to discourage busy fingers from ripping the mirror out of the housing when your cruiser is parked and you are away from it.

One other tiny thing you might not yet have noticed is that your turn signal turns on a small light on the side you are turning into. It helps you see where the edge of the road is in unlighted places.

Have a caution when driving at night. The Japanese headlights spray left and the U.S.A. spray right. You'll be blinding a fair amount of oncoming traffic without meaning to.
