Well that f'n sucks. IF they do get it fixed and you need a co-pilot, let me know, we could go on a weekend.:steer:

If it helps I may have a MAF sensor in the garage. You could always bill them back

Thanks Laoutbacktrail for the offer. If I go pick up this truck that I already paid for, and is becoming a pain in the a** ,I was going to take the family and make a full day of hanging out in Alabama. iaintscared, thanks too for the offer but the guys I bought it from are a F*****g Toyota dealership! These guys are a joke. Kinda getting cold feet on this one because of the wishy washy way they are handling this.

tell them to fix the car you have a contract. If not tell them to send your money back. If they dont like that get a attorney friend to make a call. I hate when car dealerships try and screw you after, during and before the sale. By the way that was very smart to have them sign a contract stating they will fix the car.

Thanks guys. Laoutbacktrail, I found it in Alabama. I drove up there this morning and bought the truck but it had a check engine light on. I made them sign a separate contract stating that they had to fix the problem after I bought it. Now they are telling me that it is the mass airflow sensor and it is $900 to replace. Now they don't want to eat that cost. I would have drove it home but I went to look at it in my vehicle and couldn't drive both home, being that I was solo. I am going to post up a question in the 80 series tech and see if some of the guys know anything about this problem. I may just get my money back. Man,I am getting tired of looking for cruisers.

1. Awesome Rig.

2. Awesome Rig.

3. Holy crap... nice rig.

4. $900 ...really?

5. Tell em to fix it or knock $1,000 off the price then look for a sensor on mud.

6. Interesting, Landry and I both bought rigs w/ no engine light on and by the end of the trip both have them on now.. lol

7. I hope to post some pics of the new rig soon. The Japanese guy who designed the 80 was not 6'6" FYI.

8. Very nice rig Isaac. Locked?

Oh.. and by the way...

Man,I am getting tired of looking for cruisers.

This doesn't compute. Can all these words be used in a sentence together this way?? I have NO idea of what you're talking about and have NEVER had this problem. You may need medicine.... Penicillin or something ;)

I was burned in the past at a dealership on my wife's car. I had to learn that the hard way.

4. $900 ...really? I found them for around 600

5. Tell em to fix it or knock $1,000 off the price then look for a sensor on mud. They said they would meet me halfway and I have already got the price down very low. Should know if I want to pull the plug in a few hours.

8. Very nice rig Isaac. Locked? No it is not locked. I doubt I would need lockers because it will be my commuter. This is a company car.;) If it is offroaded it would be with yall guys and I could just get pulled out or I would be camping with my family and I wouldn't be getting to wild with the little ones in the back. I don't think it would have hurt my feelings if it had lockers though.:bang:

I know, I know. Before I got the bad news phone call I came home and started looking for cruisers just out of habit. Just a little rattled at the time. Feeling a little better now.

issac bad ass rig. Ok so what happened? Did the dealrship pay for the sensor?

They paid for the sensor, took another $300 off and filled up the tank. Took over 13 gallons to drive 110 miles at 80 mph. She is pretty thirsty. It has Goodyear Wrangler MT's 315's and they were brand new when I left the lot. They are very loud. Much louder than my cheap 33 MT's on my 40. The alignment is perfect so I am thinking they need balancing. So far so good. If you are in the area tomorrow come check it out. Lance stopped by this afternoon in his 80. I will be around until mid afternoon and won't be home much until the end of the month.

sounds good I might stop by. Congrats again

1970 Fj 40

Ok I think I will go ahead and sell my 1970 fj40. I went throu this fj in 2006 and he is what I did. New brakes, all new guages, new fuel tank, new tie rod ends, new brake master and clutch master. The fj is from arizona so there is no rust. The underside, interor and the engine bay have all been srayed with spray in bed liner. All lights works and like I said it would be driving except for the engine. The 2f engine has one dead cylinder. The tires are mud terrians and are new also. I will be pulling the seats out of it but I will be letting the seats in a 1975 go with it. 3 speed tranny and transfer case that is fawless all seals and gaskets replaced. No leaks and all gears are good. i did inspect all of this on 2006 when I had this fj torn down. $3000 OBO Email me at speedn3@aol.com for more pics. thanks Deryl
