Your FJC would be a great plan A. However I've got a budget. I can pick up a 2003 or 2004 Volvo XC90 with around 100,000 miles for under $8,000. Jon, you're a great guy and very generous. But, I doubt you want to sell me that FJC for that price. I'm not sure what the parents of the other kids at her school do for a living, but there aren't too many cars in the school parking lot in that price range. There are lots of $30,000, $40,000 & $50,000 vehicles. Even if I could afford something like that, I wouldn't get anything in those price ranges. I'm trying to teach my kids the value of a dollar. Not to mention, being her first car, I'm sure she'll put a few bumps and bruises on it. I'd hate to be sweating it out everytime she backs out of the driveway.
I'm not trying to "that big" of a smart ass here.
