Guys would anyone be interested in my current rims? im running the 15 x 10 alum rims. i have a set of steel rims i wanna put on the truck but dont have the extra money to have them mounted, but if i know someone is going to buy the old ones, i can swing it long enough to get them sold.

Not sure what size tires you are running, but I have found my 35's are extremely easy to mount/dismount. If you are trying to save money, it may be something to look into. All I use are pry bars and my highlift.

Ran across this today. He's in Lafayette according to his zip.....

1973 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

781HP on the dyno

Probably a better deal than a guy that has a toyota sitting on his lot up here. It is an '86 mini with a 327 which he wants no less that $14,500 for. Not bad, considering it is "priced to sell". I believe it was priced to keep. Was on Ebay with a starting point of 10,500 (0 bids and reserve not met). It's gone now, I doubt he sold it though. Good looking truck otherwise.

Somebody's gotta want this 25y/o truck for the price of a new one (minus durability and efficiency that is).

i've tried that before and never could get it to work. im running 33x12.5x15.

The trick is...when you are prying one side, make sure the opposite side is towards the center of the rim to give you more slack. 15's are very easy to change. We either use the highlift under a vehicle or the bucket of a tractor to break the bead.

Also, I use airsoft bb's to balance them. You probably need about 5 or 6 oz for those tires. Works really well and is VERY CHEAP.

You also get to learn a lot about your tires. I found out that I had mud packed around my beads. The mud was so hard that I had to use a grinder to get it off. The beads sealed very nicely after this cleaning. I have two more that could use a good bead cleaning, but I will wait until after SCC.

Beads seat well with some soapy water, but if you get one that is stubborn, put a ratchet strap around the diameter of the tire to get the sideswall to flex outward. I am very happy with the way the tires mount and dismount using these methods. I need to change a valve stem and have no worries doing it myself, that is something I couldn't say last year.

Sorry that you are leaving Eric as I believe we only met once. Very cool of you to offer up your extras.

Damnit Larry! You beat me too it. :grinpimp: Not that there is any way I could make it over there.......but I may have to see about "borrowing" some of those parts, like the half-family cage if you don't NEED it. ;) And maybe the driver's side fender as the one Brian included has a bit of rot that looks like it has been repaired once before.

 I'll never let cruiser parts get thrown to the curb. Let me see whats there and we'll work it out. I'll need a cage for the 74 too but really want a Metaltech Family cage. I can bring you the fender to SCC if that helps or I'm headed to TN for Thanksgiving and can drop it off when passing through.

I hear ya' on that one. Yeah, I'm looking for a full cage too but if this half cage is what I think it is, I can make that work too. As for the fender, just hang on to it. If you are coming this way to get to TN, I'll get it from you then.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Its just a B loop with tie bars that welds to the factory bar to make it like a family cage. Its yours and can drop it off with the fender at Thanksgiving :)
