There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the "Rainbow Bridge" because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing; they are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him/her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again, again, and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

Oh man, I was hoping nobody would post "Rainbow Bridge". It *seriously* gets me every time.

My condolences to your family and to you.

My condolences. He had a great life and passed peacefully. German Shepherds are the best.

I am really sorry for your loss. Lost a Shepherd also to similar circumstances. Hang in there.

Shepherd's, the best dogs in the world...................................

Looks like a strong dog. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Thanks for all the good thoughts. He was up in Yosemite Valley and my wife was throwing water at him, he was trying to catch it in his mouth. She is out in the back of the 80 right now, holding him, trying to say goodbye.

Cary,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like he was one terrific dog..and a cherished member of your family. Although he did not make his 7th birthday, I am certain he will live on in your hearts forever.

I truly know the pain that you and your wife are suffering just now. It is 2 months today.. that I lost my best friend "Kota". I have no words of comfort for you, but instead..offer my sympathy and condolences.

Perhaps in time, you'll find another dog that will also bring joy into your lives. Not a replacement (there is no such thing), just another furry soul to love.

You guys are in my prayers.

Flint.

I am truly sorry to hear about your loss. time is the only treatment.

Cary, sorry about your friend. Just went through this and is sucks. If you are a dogman....and you are...re-dog. As Gene Hill said, "Whoever said money can't buy happiness forgot about puppies."

Sorry,
Ed

eric

sorry to here that

looks like you have some great pics though

I'm so sorry.... I know the love that true dog-lovers feel for thier "children". Just know that he isn't suffering anymore and is watching you lovingly from doggie heaven, so happy that he spent his life with a wonderful family that loved him.

I lost Dexter and Spike a year ago, Buddy has helped fill the void although they will never be forogotten.

I look at Buddy and often say, I know your gonna break my heart one day but its all worth it.

Sweet dog. I'm sure your son will remember him as a bear. When I was that small, my grandfather had a german shephard that could jump a six foot brick wall from a trot, and I still think he actually was a bear...

For me this was 100% true. I got Charley, my current two plus year old Shepherd a week after Harley died.
