Lost (GX) key fob away from home DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU

I purchased mine from Amazon, but when I just looked to look at my previous orders, it's no longer available, but I did find this:
Amazon product ASIN B0B93G7611The one's I purchased worked great when I programed them with TechStream.
I think you should be okay with an Amazon "knock-off". Worst case if they don't work, Amazon is great on returns.

Thanks for the super quick reply. I'll take a chance with the Amazon specials and worst case I can return- like you said :)

I got burned by "saving money" on amazon Gx460 roof rails which had THE WORST quality hardware and endcap materials. I'm much less likely to try and save by skipping OEM parts these days, lol.

Anyone lose their key and have no GX460 key? What are the options to remedy? Do I have to tow to the dealer?

I don't have an exact answer for you, but I have been neglecting getting a second key cut. Thanks for bumping this thread as it is a good reminder.

Another Lexus group mentioned they had success with eBay key cutting via photos and I've been watching this one as a workaround to obnoxious dealer fees: (HYQ14FBF - 0440) w/BLADE & CUTS for LEXUS SMART REMOTE FOB KEY if selected | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/156146789197?fits=Model:GX460%7CMake:Lexus

If you lost your key and have no backup, I think the only answer will be a dealer.
I'll try to keep this brief, a couple years ago my wife and I closed down Disnyland and late at night, to go home, my key fob was gone. Somehow fell off my key carabiner. Had no second key, and it would not help to have a tow company "slim-Jim" to get in, cause I still wouldn't be able to drive it. Had to call my daughter at home and she had to drive about 40 miles to give me the second key.

After this happened, I thought about how I would NEVER let this happen again. You can't just hide a key somewhere on the outside of the vehicle, because of the key fob. My solution was to have a physical door lock key made and hide that key on the outside of my rig. Then have a backup key fob hidden inside the vehicle with either the battery removed OR in a small Faraday pouch (from Amazon) to isolate the transmitter.

Now, if I should ever lose my key fob, I get the physical key that I've hidden in my ultra sneaky hiding spot outside my rig. Use that to unlock the doors, then get the fob I've hidden inside... Good to go!

Makes me think of my Ford products with the keyless entry pad. If I'm going to be doing something where I might lose my key, I just lock it in the vehicle and use the door code to get in!

I love the door keypad. Wish Toyota/Lexus would glom onto that. When surfing, normally, at least back in the day of real keys, one would just put the key in the little pocket next to the zipper of the back of the wetsuit. Can't do that with key fobs. And you can't hide the key fob anywhere on your car, cause someone can just walk up and pull the door handle, unlock and open your rig. It makes for quite a predicament.
The only option is to have a physical key made of the metal key hidden in the key fob (as mentioned in my post above), and use that for taking out in the water. Then hide the key fob in a Faraday case in your vehicle.

That Ford door keypad has been around for so long. 1980 Lincoln lineup and Ford Thunderbird of that year
