Just came across this unit. Looks to be full plug and play and replaces the factory Nav w/HVAC controls. Up until now we've had to retroactively replace our dash with manual AC controls then buy whatever double din head unit we wanted. This appears to do all of that for you since it actually comes with knobs and AC buttons as part of the complete unit.

Good find, I wonder if it really differs much from the other Android based replacement options that folks have been trying. Although the other options seem more like the stupid long tesla style screen wheras this looks more functional.

Looks like its running android 13 with a decent processor, hmmm. Might be a true plug-n-play option.

I notice they advertise the series as " OEM Premium"

I looked up an option for my GX470 and it shows " Tesla Series " which does not sound as ideal to me, idk

This ALMOST makes me wish I had OEM navigation now. Almost! I also like the knobs. Hopefully they are responsive and not slow and clunky like so many other crappy head units. If they were black smooth knobs like OEM that would be the bees knees!
 
I think I am going to give this one a try. I've been on the fence with getting the factory manual controls and then getting a normal double din like people have been doing for a few years now. As far as I know, this is the first true plug and play option for the 98-02 Nav LCs. So of course I'm not a huge fan of being the "tester" for it, but I just love the idea of the simplicity here. Haven't ordered it yet, but plan on doing it withing the next couple weeks. Will keep you all updated!
 
Yeah, and that's the actual expense here. Them making their own manual HVAC controls. Because in all honesty, the actual radio that comes in these is just like any of the other thousands of Chinese Android radios. Could probably buy that radio/screen for like $100. But it's just the fact that they remade it with the HVAC controls and the whole bezel to just bolt it all right in!

But will it just bolt and plug right in??

Need to see what their return policy is…

Yeah, I mean that's what they're saying anyway. Since it's coming with it's own HVAC controls then I don't see why it wouldn't be full on plug and play?

Looking at the pics of the LX version I just dont see how it would fit / work.

Sure these things may “plug in” but I doubt it will just work out of the box. A lot of these are just rebranded copies of the same stuff.

What year and model do you have? Lexus with nav?

On the 07s can't you just install the Tesla style screens anyway? For instance, you can just put one of these in. We can't use one of these on a 98-02

Sure. There is a giant thread with how awful they are.

I want physical buttons like the factory so when I saw other versions I was intrigued.

I will just stick to my iPad mini mount with maps / gauges / audio.
