I was relunctant at first but you are right there is more info on the INTL section. Just thought maybe the 45 group would be interested in hearing what options are available well ;) .

dieselcruiserhead, grease cruiser have them in cruisers. Proffit has done a number of conversions. You might want to venture to the INTL section as most of these diesel guys hang out there and you'll find more info than in the 45 section.

I've got a '69 FJ40 in the very early stages of a 4BT swap. So far I've aquired a 4speed tranny and a Ranger Overdrive which will act as the adapter between the 4spd and the cummins and provide the much needed overdrive. Next step is to find an engine. A relative in Lubbock has a neighbor that is in charge of the maintanence shop at Frito Lay. He's evidently talked about selling the step vans for $400 but that has yet to be confirmed.

400 bucks is not a bad deal.....Let me how it pans out. Are there other tranny options available? do you know if the 6 cylinder version is taller than the 4 cylinder one. :)

Just out of curisoty, is there a rechroming shop in Lubbock? My Dad lives a hour away and a little after he retired I bought him a 53 pick-up that needed to be put back together. In the process of repainting and assymbleing back to together he wanted to rechrome the bumpers and some misc. items.
