You could simply use a trailer converter or add a small turn signal and use your stk lights. I've done the converter b4, over time they seem to fail. Adding a link for a light. I've never bought anything from them.

Oh man,thank you! You guys are the best! These can go right where the stock reflectors go.
 
I'm not sure of the amp draw with those small lights. You my have to use an electronic flasher.

Hate to see you go down this path. Wall of shame is full of POs who hacked into wiring instead of fitting the problem. I see the turn signal switch for the 73 is the same 9/72-9/77. The magic of combining the brake lights and turn signals happens in the turn signal switch. Hacking into the wiring harnesses was most common for the trailer lights. Up to 9/72 the horn button moved to a button the dash is way up there. Wiring on these is simple. Trouble shooting over the internet is not. Too many opinions going in to many directions. This why I hate getting involved trouble shooting wiring the internet.
