I'm tired of replacing inner tie rods every few months on my LC100 (2inch lift IFS)
I've tried OE Toyota, 555 and a bunch of other brands but they all go floppy after a few offroading days.

Does anybody know of an inner tie rod that's the same length as OE but designed for offroading?
Nothing extreme just muddy forest tracks.

The only ones I know of are Terrain Tamer but they're crazy expensive, something like $100 for one tie rod, so $400 for a complete set of inner + outer tie rods.

Appreciate the input, as always 🍻

I've never heard of OEM tie rods going bad that quickly. I just took the original ones off my truck with 30+ years and 300k miles and they were actually still fairly smooth. (replaced with new OEM of course along with the steering rack replacement job )

what are you doing to yours? are you ripping the boots on them somehow ?

I have bent mine once, and I wheel pretty hard; I can't imagine bending them all the time unless you're playing pinball on the rocks.

Your video at 3:17 shows your inner tie rod "flopping" around and then you said it's bad. That's not really a reliable test of an inner TRE. It's a ball joint with a plastic sleeve and a ton of grease. It may not flop around when brand new but it will after some use. The test is checking for play in the ball joint.

This is a bad inner tie rod.
