I have been looking for a 100 series LC or LX470 to keep in AZ at our retirement place. I'm in Spokane WA. There is a local rig, second owner, lots of service history available, 265,000 miles and 25 years of ownership. It became a vehicle his kids used, so although he kept up on regular fluid services religiously, he let things go like recommended axle replacements, and when something like a misfire code appeared, he would replace one coil pack vs. just doing them all. I hate that approach to vehicle maintenance. It will need the AC system brought back to life, new tires, etc. I plan on going through the suspension and having a mild lift installed and a few mods geared toward a balance between offroad use and something my wife can also take shopping. It's due for a timing belt/water pump service at a minimum as well.
I'm torn between this one and one that is just done. I can probably buy this for $7-$8K and would plan on putting another amount similar to that bringing it to a reliable rig in decent cosmetic condition. How much a premium would you put on long term ownership given some things were on the "customer declined service" end of things?
