I posted this in the yotatech forum but figured i would ask here as well.

Any ways here is the rundown.

1993 4x4 ext-cab Toyota V6 Auto.
177k on the OD
Engine was "rebuilt" at 170k in sept 08.
New Radiator (Does look new) also
A check of the glove box reveals pretty much all the receipts since 1993 (including the bill of sale).
Head Gaskets done at 88k (under warrantyaccording to the receipt)
I'll need to go over them again but I didn't see anything about a TB + WP replacement but I assume it was done..

The individual I purchased it from kept if from about 10 months then drove if from Washington State to Texas w/out any issues, It's been sitting pretty much garaged for a few months until I bought it.

The only thing I noticed was that the Coolant res was right at the LOW mark. I Checked the Radiator and it's topped off (even after sitting all night the levels didn't change). When i drove it home (about 60 miles) I didn't notice
any heating issues the gauge read just below 1/2 way.

As a side question, since I am not sure what mix+radio was originally in there (it's the green stuff not the pink btw) I should drain/flush the entire radiator and just refill from scratch correct?

With all that being said, everything seems pretty good in it, HOWEVER I plan to use it for camping and would be in some pretty out of the way places and
don't want to be stuck out. I plan on taking it to a local Toyota specialty shop, Here is what I think they should probably look at..

- Inspect current head gaskets
- check the radiator (since i noticed the reserve was low)
- check Timing Belt / Water Pump
- Tranny?

Anything else I need looked at? Done?

Thanks.

Some will disagree, but I personally would flush the green stuff out of there and get some Toyota red, mixed 50/50 with distilled water.

Not sure how they're gonna "inspect" the head gaskets, but I leakdown test won't hurt. By the time you tear the engine down enough to inspect the timing belt and WP, you can just go ahead and replace them. Have them put all new OEM belts back on.

You might also wanna have the ATF flushed with new synthetic. Although, there are some arguments that say "leave it alone".

How's the rust?

If the engine was rebuilt 7k miles ago, the HG was also replaced again. I wouldn't worry about the engine at all if it runs smooth and strong. As for the coolant tank, just top it off and run it.

I didn't have good loock with the fan bracket!!!

I spent over $500.00 only in original toyota parts + labor... then on a trip to baja the fan bracket just "explode" inthe midle of the desert.
