Hey guys.

I'm having problems with my 91 land cruiser. Since August Its been rough idling, it driving normal 20mph + but when driving slower speed. (Cornering, speed bump, parking lot speed) Engine is missing firing, rattles and lost in power. But it never stalls.

I check the obd1 and came back with codes
Code 24: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor signal.
Code 31: Air Flow Meter (AFM) signal or Vacuum Sensor signal.

I ended up getting the MAF refurbished, this Saturday I installed it back in, no more codes (kept getting the flashing check engine light with no pause) but still having the same problem. With the idling.

So far I change the
spark plugs.
Spark plugs wire.
Air filter.
Fuel filter
Fuel pump
distribution cap and rotor

I did remove efi fuse to do a reset. Is there a proper way of doing it ?
that is the proper way, as long as it was the EFI fuse and not the EFI relay.
Have you checked for vacuum leaks? particularly the intake hose?

Have you done any recent work to the vehicle?

I just bought a smoke leak detector. Going the check for leaks next weekend.

April got the MAF refurbished

October I change the fuel pump + fuel filter.

Aug I did a turn up. distribution cap and rotor spark plugs, and wires

And in 2024 Aug did a transmission rebuild.

dont rely on just the smoke for finding leaks. I had 3 small ones, and the smoke didn't detect any of them! Always pays to do a visual inspection of all vacuum houses, the intake etc. There's so many on this vehicle, and give the age, failed/deteriorated hoses are common. In August when you worked on the ignition system, it sounds like thats when these issues started, so I'd be going back over your work, and ensuring all your spark plugs are secured and popped on properly both at the spark plug end and distributor end, also check the one between the coil and distributor. Finally, it would be work checking your ignition timing (in diagnostic mode on your DLC1 port), and seeing what your base timing shows (factory is 3 degrees).
