No worries...

For everyone else...

Went and checked the FJ62 out....decent condition. Some rust...but not in typical spots like tailgate or lower quarter panels. Some on hood in couple places...one door corner...and a little bubbling starting around rear quarter near glass and gasket. Paint needs a good compound and waxing but is original...it has been touched up a couple places with rattle can it appears...looks about color of tomato soup LOL

Cranked it up and let it run...needs new alternator...all electrical switches work, 4wd, hubs, etc.... Needs some loving care...fluids, new vac lines, some sanding and rust repair/prevention, but is solid truck for someone that knows and loves Land Cruisers and especially if can do some of the work themselves. Frame looked clean, normal seeps and leaks for gaskets...looks like needs knuckle rebuild and leak at the catalytic converter.

Will post some pics later if anyone interested in a solid cheap Land Cruiser project.

At that price, probably a little rougher than I am hoping for; but sent request for more info all the same. Gotta check em all out. Thanks Eric for keeping an eye out.

Yea, I've seen all his stuff. He's had em all on eBay several times and the reserve is never hit. Maybe he ought to get the idea he's got em priced a little too high for the market. Thanks for continuing to look. Ed

Here are some of the 1988 FJ62 we have discussed...OP passed on it waiting for a 60 series.

178,000 miles.....some rust in couple areas on door corner, two spots on hood but frame and rockers are good as are panels. Started up and ran fine but needs an alternator and some care and someone that can appreciate her and polish her up inside and out. Paint is faded from sun...it is wet in pics LOL.

some more...rust along front edge of hood...passenger front door on bottom corner...a small bit on passenger cargo window area....none under cargo carpet or on tailgate as usually seen though...and frame is solid.

All electrical works including 4x4 actuator... AC was converted but needs charging....looks to be original paint, vac lines, etc. Knuckles need rebuilding.

She is hoping to get $1200 or best offer

Found It!

I just took the plunge on a FJ62 today:). I had been looking hard for a 60, but this one was just too nice to pass up on. Hopefully it should be arriving :steer: this weekend, so I will post up some pics when it gets here.
Thanks to everyone who had been keeping an eye out for one for me. Ed

False Alarm

Well the FJ62 I thought I had found didn't quite work out, so the hunt continues. I would still prefer that un-molested 60 if it exist somewhere other than in my mind :hhmm: (and for other than for 15K :D). Any help in the search is appreciated. Ed

Thanks Jerry. He's got it on eBay also. Waiting to see what "reasonable" offer is to him. Gotta loves the mileage!

Found It, Last Time!

Just bought an 84 LC from a fellow Cruiserhead in Texas. Having it picked up this weekend, so the hunt is officially over:clap:. Thanks again for all the help. Ed

Thanks guys. I never lose that excitement that comes with getting a new vehicle; its like looking at a blank canvas.... so many possibilities . I'll post up some pictures when she gets here.
