Looking at an 80

Got an 80 i am looking at here in Fay.

No rust to this thing besides a bit starting under rear window but still catchable. 93 with no type of lockers that i seen, but have not driven it yet to test for aftermarket. At a wholesaler's lot. Was just bought up in the mountains of NC. ( trade in up there ). Looks to have about a 2 inch OME lift with about 33's. Paint in decent shape with one minor dent in rear. Interior looks great as if no one ever smoked in it. Maybe needing a muffler / windshield soon. No codes. Looks like one leak at Transfer case. No records what so ever. Carfax did not pull anything major at all.

Guy is asking 5500.

What thinks the group ?

Mileage ? Pics? hmm '93 , no lockers , pretty clean though.

My 2 cents , I think I could do a little better myself with a little patience and an ignorant soccer mom. Marginal/Borderline Need pics , and maintenance records would help. FWIW from the new guy.

A little high for me but again not too sure what it will go to. My 60 is about to hit 200,000 here this year.

doh, that settles it, I WOULD NOT GET A GREEN 80

price is OK, but id vote for a little more time and keeping a broad cast eye on the market. A 96 locked w/ 145k just sold for 6500 in reidsville NC. no records but clean looking.

I'd agree on passing for that price, year, mileage, no history / records, no lockers, etc...

You should be able to get more for that amount of coin Darren, especially given the record high gas prices right now.

Now that Jason has chimed in, you may want to offer him some sort of finder's fee. He has his pulse on every cruiser for sale between here and Katmandu.

I'd pass since it doesn't have lockers. OME and 33's are nice, but lockers are what sold me on the 80.

From watching craigslist lately, the 92's to 94's have been listing for $4k-$5k. On yahoo they've been running $5k-$8k.

Thanks all for the feedback. I am not in a big hurry to get one right now it is the only one i have ever seen for sale locally. If anyone knows of any forsale locally to them keep me in mind unless you do not have one / need one also.

I'll keep my eyes peeled up here for ya. I've had a lot of luck Cruiser hunting lately. It usually corresponds to me not having money!
