Has $35k miles and they are asking $42k. You could tell the lady had kids as there were marks and stuff in the seats. Besides needing new tires and I believe brakes, the power close rear hatch wouldn’t work, and the drivers for had to be unlocked by key. She has no manny records, said they were at her mechanics, and said I could contact him. Also the drivers seat had a tear and a wear mark. It’s worse than the small tear I had in my 2000 that I bought 3 years ago. I’m thinking of sending it to the local Lexus dealer for a pop. The tears on the drivers seat have worried about odometer rollback. Is it possible the seats could have that much tear with that little mileage? Or am I just over thinking it?

Depending on how they treated it, seats can be totally ragged out at that mileage. Just think about all the different ways people could possibly get in and out of a car.. things they could have in their hands, things attached to clothes (rivets on jeans, for example).

I'm not sure of the specifics with toyota/lexus but rolling back odometers is much harder than it used to be. Generally the odo itself CANT be rolled back. You can swap a different cluster in, but even those are usually coded to only work with the original VIN.

Either way.. sounds like this thing wasn't well-maintained. For the same money you can likely find something with more miles and perfect service history and near-perfect condition.. that's the route I would go. I'd have no hesitation buying one of these with 50, 75, 100k. Actually the last number is what I did..

Red flags point to an owner who either didn’t know how...or didn’t care...to maintain a vehicle.

No thanks.
