WWII "Blitz" metal jerry cans anyone?

Anyone interested in trading some Wedco 20L diesel cans for these? :) PO painted them dark green, they used to be red. If no one is interested in them, I may just paint them yellow, purchase a super siphon and call it a day. Is there any problem using a previously-used-for-gasoline container for diesel? Just run some cleaner through them?

just put diesel in, the little gas that is left is not going to do anything. Only problem with the metal ones is they rust inside

Thanks Jay. That's what I was afraid of. If there's rust inside, is it a problem?

If you get the fuel tank restore kit it will have stuff to clean any crude out of them... it is a very easy process and comes with instructions... end result is you will have lined fuel tanks that should in theory "never" rust from the inside out...

2 of them look like they have a bit of oil in them.

Cool, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks dude.

Now, does anyone have any old inner tubes I could pillage? I need to make some new gaskets for these. :D

ask ken... he used to get them from bike store ... or just visit your local bike store and ask them.

Bike tires are too narrow...

I have some old dolly tire inner tubes...but it'd be cheaper to just go to PA and buy one than to come get em...

Very true... ahh, a good excuse to go visit PA :hillbilly:

i bought one a month ago and it came with the spout...

mine was stamp usmc 1970s something on the bottom..
any of those with stamps on them...

this is what i have on order... tool storage...

for $120 i thought i would just save some time and not have to build one out of a rust one....
