Just found these at a local surplus shop here at Ft Bragg area. They are evacuation sleeping bags, super thick (14" thick, 15lbs a piece), brand new with liners and carrying bag. lots of zippers so that you can keep certain areas closed while inspecting a certain area of patient, have carrying handles built into waterproof heavy duty bottom. these things are so thick and warm and alot bigger than the regular mummy style sleepings bags which I have 2 of the newer 4 part sleeping systems, very warm as well. I will be selling a couple of my other military sleeping bags now that I found these.

I know what you mean they will keep you warm. I just put the liners in these and folded them up and put them into their carring bags, quite big but absolutely warm for really cold climates, has an attached white furry collar that is bendable. will go good inside my Eezi awn on top of my CDN M101. I have never seen any like these so I had to snatch them up for they are so much roomier for the whole top part zips down on both sides and is more boxed shaped.

Rob,

What types of bags were you selling? I checked out the classifieds and didn't see any sleeping bags. I have been looking into the modular sleeping system today and they look like a killer set-up. What are your thoughts on this bag (s)? Are you going to be parting with any of yours? I can get one brand new shipped to my door for $195, but have heard of them as cheap as $140 or so on ebay if you're paitent. Mind me asking what you paid for yours at surplus? Thanks,

Evan

Evan,
The modular sleep system is a great sleeping bag! Spent many a night in mine with no complaints. They do come in 2 different sizes, so if your tall, get the longer one.
They sell for over 400 new, so if you can find one for 140 Id jump on it.

agree, the military 4 piece modular system is an excellent choice and I have used it in many of diff places, if not so cold then you can use the inner sleeping bag, and if really cold you put the outer bag over it and then throw the goretex cover and you are golden. I have like three of those modular bag sets that I am still signed for and have to return one day. For $200 I would get it, I am recommending those to my cousin as well. My bags in this thread were $85 a piece but again these are old technology compared to the new modular systems. These bags I just bought are just nice becuase the are very, very roomy and yet still very warm but weigh a ton. jump on those modular systems and you will be happy
