Longfields in a 55

So I just got done tearing down my front axle because I thought I had a bum birf. When I pulled the inner axle from the birf I noticed the axle splines were stripped. So I am thinking of putting the longfeild 30 birf ans axles! I want to know the groups opinions about longfields in 55 smal knuckles. This is in Rhino's old rig. 37's and disk brakes. Pleasr let me know your thoughts and if this is even possible.

It's possible, but the knuckles will be a weak link. Upgrade to six shooters in one big leap and be done with it. Spitting knuckle studs on the trail sucks.

I'm running the Long Supers in my original axle housing...but with the big knuckles.

I would love to go to six shooters but I don't think I can swing it right now. it sounds like the longs will fit in to the small knuckles. Right??

I'm going to say"right"...though I haven't done exactly that. may need to grind the opening on the knuckle a little to get the birf in.

I ran the longfields In an fj60 with tbi 350.. never had any issues with them.
