Long shot tranny question

Will a 1980 4 speed 4wd tranny fit in a 1990 2wd truck?
The truck has a 4 speed in it now.
I know its a long shot but thought I'd ask

You can make just about any tranny fit, it just depends how much you're will to spend.

I dont know....hows that for an answer....

But I would find out what model number the trans is then find out what motors they hooked up to and do the same for what you have now, and find a way to link that thing up like kevin bacon.

As said, many of these trans are very interchangeable especially if you swap bellhousings around...

If they are both 2wd and both 4 cylinders, then I'd say maybe, but you'll probably need a custom cross member, and a custom rear drive shaft.... So it's not really a viable option...
