Revell hardware makes them as well as Aloha locksmiths (I think that's the name). Heck I think Autozone might make them!

I assume they do. I know Revell couldn't do the one for my Dodge but could do many of them. Aloha is where they referred me.

This is a taboo topic on this forum but I'm going to throw it out there. I still have a 96 cherokee sitting in my driveway. It was running great but something happened in the ignition sequence. I have replaced the starter/solenoid, ignition switch and tried a bypass of the Neutral Safety Switch. I cleaned all terminals and trimmed wires but all I get is a click. Anyone with experience of this. longshot........

Is the starter from Auto Zone? If so I'd start with a new starter.

Some reason think bossman went thru this long time ago.....
Think it was ground issue or ground strap issue...

Little elbow grease and polish.

My unsolicited opinion, with HF, smittybuilt and the like really coming on strong at the lower end of the market, WARN couldn't have their name and proven products associated with these lower price competitors, so they jacked up M to save its reputation and the VR was born. My guess is that it is probably a good buy, likely better than the other low cost units. I'd love to see one side by side with an M, disassembled to see the internal diifferences. Most likely more cast components and less machined parts, thinner housings, etc. all to shave costs down. Then they can charge the same for less and more for the same all in an effort to protect their brand.

I mean look at the 8274s, they have almost doubled in price in the last few years, difference.... new motor and.... that's pretty much it, but with the M now costing more they had to jack up the iconic 8274 to protect it's rep, I mean it can't cost the same as an M, right. I know cost have risen on materials and labor, but I think they are mostly just playing the game to protect branding and market share.

Sorry for the hi-jack, once the mood hit, the fingers had to get it out of the brain... If you pick one up let us know your thoughts.

I wouldn't consider that hi jack since it kinda answered my question.

So you have one? I have read only good reviews.

No, and I'm not saying they are bad. But they are Warn's value line. Which, shortly after hitting the market, were the price that the M's used to be before the M's skyrocketed in price.

Do you need a used Smittybilt 8000?

Source used 8274 and let @MScruiser rebuild it.

How much for the SB?
