any one have a way to remove these wheel nuts when you do not have the key?
just so every one knows they are on the 86 parts truck i bought, so i seen the guy i bought it from and he does not know where the key is.
i do have a torch rig so if i have to i will torch them off.

I took my wife's LX to Discount Tire and they removed 'em for free w/ a special tool since I bought the tires there. IIRC this tool costs around $50. I thought about welding a nut on the locks but didn't want burn marks on her wheels.:D Another method I heard of is to pound a socket on slightly smaller than the lock then remove the lock w/ breaker bar or ratchet.

I've seen them, they look like impact sockets... You beat them on and they are like a easy-out. They're splined backwards to bite on the lug while you turn it left...

But 1, they're not cheap. And 2, everytime you use one it lessenes the life.

And a very distant 3 might be I believe they've been improved upon since the last time I've even seen one...

You're gonna have a hell of a time torching that off, and you'll ruin a bunch of good parts in the process.

I has this happen on a trail ride about 8 years ago, out at Paragon. A Heep in the group blew out a tire with those things on, and the key was nowhere to be found. I found a deep socket in my toolbox, probably around 20-21mm that was a really tight fit, we just pounded it on with a BFH and the nut came right off.

Sears sells a kit, but they're kinda pricey:

although it seems like I've seen them on the rack for a lot cheaper than that. I know all the tire shops have them, maybe slip a tech $20 to borrow his.

We had to haul one of our scrapper rigs into les schwab (large local tire dealer) and ask to have them removed. They had a bucket of the sockets and we thought they were going to sort through them and find one that fit and too our suprise they just started beating them on there and removed them that way BUT there was only one locking lug per wheel in this case. When we asked them about it they said thats how we do it.

BTW, if anybody wants a set of these, I have 2 sets in the garage that I'll give away. Both essentially brand new, with keys. One set came of the Lexus, the other off the Highlander.

I knew I'd seen them for cheaper than that:

all right guys i got the two off the rear, i used a 12 point promark 13/16 sparkplug socket beat it on with a 3# sledge then slipped another 13/16 on my breaker bar and it came right off, so i need to get the u bolts off and the rear will be out then i will be working on rebuilding the breaks and those pesky leavers for the E-brake.
