Might be a dumb question, but does the 2000 LC have the feature that beeps when you lock/unlock the doors? Mine doesn't do it. Is nice to be able to tell when the thing is working or not.

The good news is that there is provision for a PIZO (sp) signal. The bad news is that it’s expensive. You have to get it at the Lexus dealer. You can search the PIZO and you should be able to find it.
I am no expert on this, but I'd be surprised if it's not supposed to beep. My '98 ES beeps with the remote lock/unlook, there is a knob under my dash right in front of my right knee that lets you control the volume of the beep tone. Maybe yours is turned all the way down? Might check your owner's manual.

Mine does not beep either, but I dont see the "typical" piezo (which emits the beep) or a place to tap into the system to add one
I like it quiet anyways, but it would be nice to have the option of turning it on or off...

My 2000 doesn't peep either. I checked with another 2000 owner when I bought mine, he told me his didn't peep. I do have lights front and back that flash when I lock and unlock the vehicle.

LX's beep. LC's don't beep. IIRC, the Piezo is in the driver's side fender (hidden by the fender liner). I am guessing you can use any generic weather resistant Piezo. I like having it but prefer it to be a little quieter. Maybe I'll do something about that.
