Local rims for 4runner?

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 97 4runner with the intentions of building it up to check out the back roads of the peace. She came with some studded winter tires mounted, so I'm looking for some 16 inch rims to mount some mt's to (255/85/16 BFG KM2?).

I've scoured the local classifieds and tried the auto wrecker (he wanted $500 - 1/8 of the price I paid for the truck!)

Anyways anyone local to the Peace have a line on some rims that would fit on my runner?

Hey Hotroofer,

I don't have any 16's but I have some aluminun 15X10 rims off my landcruiser wagon that I wouldn't mind getting rid of for $100 (all 4). Also have two 15X8 white spokes in good shape that I could let go for $50 (for both). Not sure what the bs is needed for the 4 runners, but I think both of these have slightly larger bs than the cruisers need and are at 3.75? I ran them with 1/4 in spacers to clear the front tierods as I think stock cruisers have 3.5 bs rims.

Let me know if interested, otherwise not sure where to check, as it took quite a while to collect some older rims for my wagon street tires (ended up collecting 4 15X7 white spokes before I could finish collecting a set of the 15x8 rims, hence having two extra rims lying around )

Thanks for the reply Deny, right now I've got my heart set on 16 inch rims. If I can't find a set in the next month ill just get the winters taken off and search for some steal rims to mount them on next fall. I didn't think it would be this hard to track down a set!

Ha Ha, yeah I stopped at every tire shop in town and got two rims at 3 different places, and made the set of 15x7 after I already had two 15x8s. They wanted a million dollars for new stuff, and really couldn't help me much since this town is all about 17 inch or bigger stuff. I usually order tires and rims from down south as it comes out cheaper even with shipping then anything I can get up here.

Yea it seems that 15 and 16 inch stuff is hard to find around these parts. I guess part of the adventure is finding the stuff you need. Have you found any wreckers up here to be import friendly? Belsum's only had 1 4runner in the yard. I'm also on the quest for a roof rack. Might end up having to fab something myself!

No wreakers have import stuff, but haven't tried all of them, not sure there are too many? Between my brother and I , we have enough parts trucks though, I think we got 5 or so out at his farm north of town, and still a few back in the lowermainland. They are all cruisers though, no 4runners. Yeah roof racks are probably pricey if you have to buy new, especially if you order one up here, you'll probably be waiting a while for it too.
