??? Even I don't remember all my avatars.

What was the donor rig(s)?

Should be fun.

Jack

They both came out of Chrerokes. I probably walked by a bunch in other rigs but the Heeps were easy to spot.

You planning on using them OBA? I did that on the LR and boy does that output hose get SUPER hot! Or, are you planning on installing A/C in the 40?

Yep, OBA. I would say spend the money on an output hose that can take the heat. My buddy tried regular plastic hose with a push on fitting and it would melt and blow off after the fifth or sixth tire.

Hey Dan, could you weigh one of those. Just thinking, they have to be a whole bunch lighter than the pig of a York I have.

Water Pump and maybe OBA if I can shoehorn it in someplace.

One is mine, Spressomon picked his up yesterday. Yes they are for OBA A/C wouldn't do much good in the 40. I'll look at high temp hose options, good to know it's an issue.

Alia? is that you???
I'll get a weight tonight.

By the time you add an oiler and filter weight might be a wash. Your also looking at 8CFM compared to 10CFM.

I knew the weight question was going to come back and bite me.:D

While you don't have the oiler with the York, you do have the filter. I am still curious about the weight difference. Not that I have weighed the york, I just know that it is extremely heavy.

I think the CFM would only be an issue if trying to run air tools, my buddie's Sanden handled his 37's and my 35's just fine.

7.94 kilos

How much does the York weigh?

BTW the more I look at this project the more I think a SBC swap is the real solution. The 2F still has decent compression but it's puking oil from the front and the back and every gasket in between.

I hit the drive pulley nut with an impact wrench until the tanks is empty a couple of times in the morning and at night, add penetrating oil and repeat.
So far no movement.
As I see it I can:
1) Get the propane torch out and give it some encouragement.
2) Jam the flywheel, get the four foot persuader out and hog on it until either my back or the nut gives.
3) Replace the water pump and be done with it.

I'm leaning very heavily toward option three given all the other more important projects I have to do.

I used a hydraulic hose for the output hose and it still dang hot!! Kilby also sells a high temp hose for this application as well.

The only downside to the Sanden, as you know already, is the extremely oil air on the output. I tried various things to separate this oil and then fed it back into the suction side (automatically). However, I still got oily air, even after the air/oil separator. Sanden has no separate oil crankcase so you sort of end up living with it. But the Sanden is a nice OBA package for sure.

Good luck with it!

I hit it again with the impact after dinner and it spun loose.
Liquid Wrench, an impact wrench and time did the trick I guess. Maybe Friday I'll pull the crank pulley and see how badly it's scored.

Glad to hear that you didnt have to throw your back out!
Weird how that stuff works out sometimes.
If you did a V8, would you stick with a carb, or go with an FI/ throttlebody?
Id still LOVE to do this (V8 conversion), and if I add much more weight to my rig, Im gonna HAVE to.
Im curious to see how this comes out.
So you just picked up an AC pump for this project?

I'd go with a TBI engine.
In addition to more power a V-8 conversion will reduce the weight of your rig by about 200#, it's amazing how heavy the F series blocks are.

After a lot of consideration I think I'm going to shelf this project for the now. Way to many other projects that have higher priority. So I think I'll just get the water pump replaced and forget about fixing the oil leaks and adding OBA for the time being.

My 55 had been converted long before I started driving it, the old '71 vintage 350 truck engine + RV cam + low gears made for fun on the street too.
