This is a low-tech issue for sure, but I find that the center console, particularly in front of the shift lever is incredibly dark at night. Can’t see my keys, phone, the USB jack, whatever. I looked for a low intensity lighting solution to plug into the 12V lighter jacks or USB but all were too bright.
On item was this lighter-jack blue light. WAY too bright on its own, but by narrowing the light window with some spray paint, it works perfectly. The image shows much more glare than there actually is. I still need one more coat of black enamel to prevent the light bleed through, and the window is still a tad too big
Anyway, it’s the second time I’ve done this. It provides just enough glow to see what’s going on in that space but not enough to decrease night vision.
