Has anyone thought about or built tail light guards. How about front blinker guards. Stout ones, similar to Rover guards.

I know on my old 40, one of first things I broke was a front blinker, AKA... the Delancy Look. I replaced with VW lights, but what would it look like with a guard over the whole light.

I was thinking of making some, maybe out of 1/16" rod, only problem, you would have to drill mounting holes in the body.

Thoughts.... Dumb or other wise

Not silly or dumb at all. I am thinking of the tail light guards a la LR as well. Im also on a limb riser design quest after I nail down a roof rack. lot's to do!

I would think 1/8" rod would be better for any cover.

I do have a set of headlight mesh guards and mounting clips for my 55...

Or "pinky winky"??

Both of these have been broken at the base before, as has the DS on the '72.

Not do sure that the earlier signals aren't a lot stouter, Ron. Thinking all of the ones like the above, that I have, may be aftermarket 40 series replacements, but the earlier signals only feel a lot stronger.

(Be back with pic)

Think a guard or a base is a very good idea, in all honesty, since they seemed precariously placed for the mall parking lot's inattentive pedestrians.

If wheeling, I'd think better to stock up on lights and not risk damaging the fender.

I replaced with VW lights...

Following suit, for lack of any other option in a power profile version.
