Haas anyone here lifted a torsion axled popup trailer. If so, can you post some pics. Mine is a Jayco with surge brakes, if that helps. I am thinking I will have to use lift blocks.

Thanks

Talk to Romer on this board, I think he has done this, and I also think his is a jayco unit as well.

I checked out the links, but my trailer does not have leaf springs (it has a torsion axle). I was thinking I could go the leaf spring route, but my axle and brakes are already paid for!

I was thinking I could install lift sub frame under the torsion axle to lift it higher and extend the brake lines.

How much lift are you looking for?

I am thinking 4 inches is the max with the torsion. 12 inches would be better, but I would need leaf springs, a new axle, brakes and tires.

You can lift a torsion axle easily, but I am not aware of any kits. You will have to fabricate spacer blocks for the axles. I expect any good hitch shop would be able to assist. Also talk to the local RV dealer- they lift trailers all the time.

Be sure you don't screw up the angles - they are critical to the way the trailer rides. As long as you keep the spacer blocks square it shouldn't be an issue. Rectangular steel tubing would be fine.
