I'm thinking about installing these longer shackles in the rear. Anybody done this before? Do I need to think about shocks, cables, hoses (gas tank), brake lines, drive shaft?

If your looking to just lift the rear an inch or 2. What about doing something simple with a toytech lift
According to that add Amazon says these will not fit my 85 4Runner. But that's a good alternative if it was the right size. Thanks.

Its pretty simple to build a shackle. 2x3/8 flat, a 3/4 drill. Some nuts and bolts.

I would imagine the toytec block would fit with some slight mods or a ubolt flip kit.

So, I've settled on this. I can afford it, I can do it myself in Chris's driveway (although he doesn't know it yet, lol), and I won't need to make any further adjustments. I'll get the 5". As I go I'll take some pics of measurements and let you all know how it works out. Thank you for all your input.

Turns out my rush to lift the back is not necessary. Everything looks nice and straight.

Now I'm wondering if I do a spring over on the pop up to get more clearance for the steps, how will it affect this?
