I have a stock '23 Blackline and am going to be putting 17s on in a couple of months when I get new tires. Big reason is the look as I hate the offset on the stock rims. I have seen some have installed Bilstein 6112s and commented how they got a small lift out of them without actually installing a lift. I have no desire to install a lift on my GX but getting a small increase due to shocks? That I could do.

What would be "required" if I went with 6112s in the front? Would I need to change the backs to something other than stock? Is there anything else I would need to add? (Please know that I have never lifted a vehicle. The only experience I have is I added Bilstein 5100s to my F150 a few years ago to stop the bed bounce with OEM shocks.)

Thanks.

6112's are just adjustable to a couple of lift settings....they have snap rings that can raise the perch the spring sits on for various amounts of lift.

Wouldnt hurt to raise it up slightly using them, looks-wise. If you have no desire to lift it at all, then your OEM stuff should be just fine being a 2023.

To answer your question, nothing else would be required.

If you go larger tires you might have to mess with some of the wheelwell plastics, bolts to stop rubbing, but there are countless threads and Reddit and Facebook posts about that....very dependent on tire and wheel specific choice, ect, ect.

With your rig being a 2023, the OEM shocks should be good for at least a few more years (unless you have a very high mileage rig). OEM Lexus shocks are high quality to begin with.

If you just want a little "bump" in the front, I'd install a 1/4" spacer between the top of the OEM strut and the shock tower, which will get you 1/2" of lift. The spacers are around $40 per side and sold by lots of different companies.

Then, when you need new shocks, you can install 6112s or whatever suspension you are interested in at that time.

If you aren't going to lift and if you are going to stay with tires under 50 lbs, you would probably be happy with 5100s. Plus you will gain a little bit of droop.

I am on team minimal lift.

Note that most new (off road) shocks will will give a wee bit of height, but over time they will settle and you should be back, close to stock height again.

If you don't want a lift, then just keep it stock height? I ran mine on 33s at stock height and stock suspension for well over a year before I bought suspension, and I think it looks great. You still have to do the work to make them fit either way, so just grab the wheels and tires you want, do some trimming, and keep it that way until you want to change it. Your OEM suspension is also new, so it's not a matter of "while you're in there".

I did the same. This was my truck in March of 2022

You certainly don't have to change the rear shocks, but the upgrade in ride quality would probably be worth it...

I went with Radflo 500R coil overs up front and matching shocks in the rear, stock rear springs, and about 1-1.5" of lift up front to level the truck. Still aligned within specs without the need for UCAs.

Not on 33s, but a 32 (~31.6, 265/65/18), this photo is with the cargo area loaded for a 5 week trip

Appreciate all the replies... just want to clarify that I am ok with obtaining a lift via the 6112s, even though it is minimal (in my mind). I don't want to go the route of purchasing a lift package. (Hope that makes sense)

Could you please explain what you mean by gaining a little bit of droop?
5100s are an inch longer than 6100s so you get an inch more droop. Otherwise the struts length acts as a limit strap.

Both 5100s and 6100s are height adjustable.

5100s use your oem spring for stock weigh applications
6100s come with a spring.

Part of why a full set of 5100s is less expensive than a front pair of 6100s

Do you have a lot of crosswinds where you are?

Do you like to have good road feel or isolation?

I specifically like the bilsteins for how communicative they are. You can feel a lot through the wheel and it gives you more data points. Others dislike the slight increase in NVH.

I have crazy crosswinds as well and thats the other area where Bilsteins really are better than about anything else other than zone shocks or ICONs
