I am currently working on a 1965 45 lpb and am going straight original restoration.
I have to replace the springs because they are out of spring and was considering a 2-3 inch lift. THis truck will not be wheeled. It will be (hopefully) perfectly flawless.
Let me hear some opinions. I am on the fence.
Kinda a gay question but I respect most of the opinions I get here on Mud. Also I know that a lift will take away from originality.
THanks for humoring me.

I say lower it 'till it's scraping frame and throw on some 24" bling bling spinners with ultra low profile z rated tuner tires. I think that's not OEM though!

Seriously, slight lift with Mud T/As is an awesome look.

From your other posts, I think you're already aways from original, so build it how you want, the beefier the better.

OME 2-3" 2 leaves out of the rear, front is also SR, 33x9.5s, had 35x12.5's but didnt work so hot with the 3 speed ;)

drives great

I was at Marks Off Road a few weeks ago and he was installing a lift on a 45. It looked really good before but after he installed the Alcans it looked like an entire different rig. It looked realy good and had the proper stance to it.

Look at the FJ45 Run pictures in the trails and Exp section. There are a lot of picture of 45's with lifts.

Bull's Troopy is over the top and set up great.

I have not posted many things about this rig (just vague questions). It is new to me and plan on posting some pics at some point. It is bone stock, short of the factory spare tire carrier, tailgate hinge and bug catcher window control knob (all missing). It still has rusty but great condition factory exhaust, I thought the exhaust would be the first thing to rust away.
Thanks, Ya'll for the input/pics.

Sorry, my bad/confusion.

Too much time spent looking at 45 posts and too little brain cells:doh:.

Looking forward to watching your build!

I would only go with a 2"to 3" lift. If you go much more, than you will have to change a lot more components to do it right and have it ride good. Looks are one thing--but being able to enjoy riding in it is even better. Just a thought.
