The Lexus branch of the Colorado Land Cruisers are going on an unscheduled, last minute, spur of the moment trail ride up Old Stage road and up FR379 near Rosemont reservoir. The plan is to meet at Safeway (1920 S Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80905) at 8:00 and leave at 8:30. We will travel up Old Stage Road ( County Road 8) then go up FR379 pass through Frosty park and maybe go through Bull Park. We will exit onto County Road 8 going West through Victor, Cripple Creek, Road 67 through Divide and Woodland Park.

The trail ride is open to all members and guests no matter what you drive.

Maybe I can catch everyone in Cripple Creek and join in. At Zac's shop currently working.

13 Hours of offroading. Yes it was tiring, but well worth it. We met at Safeway and headed up Old Stage Road. First detour was onto 371 and up Emerald valley. That was the most beautiful part of the whole day. the trail is short but lots of greenery and a nice noisy stream to entertain you. Next trail was 381. It started with a very potholed section and then got down right confusing with numerous social trails that got us taking the wrong route. On the way to getting straightened out we stopped at a campsite and filled 2 garbage bags of trash. Once we got back on the main trail we headed for the end of 381A and there was a 3 foot rock wall that my front tires climbed and then in the interest of not sustaining damage we stopped and backtracked to 381 and headed to the end. we got to a part aof the trail and decided although we could do it it was going to be a lot of work to get back out. We headed out to Old Stage Road. On the way back we met Derek and his wife driving a 2010 4 Runner. We explained what we were doing and he asked if he could follow us since he just started 4 wheeling. The there vehicles headed up 379 towards Frosty Park. We decided to go up 379A to see Mt Rosa. 3/4 of the way up we met a Green Taco and the guy said his low oil light came on and he didn't want to go any farther. I turned down a $20 dollar offer for a quart of oil that I gave him. We gave him the information on how to join the CLC. The driver said he wanted to go to Bull Park with us. His loss since we didn't see him again. We finished 379 with no issues. When Vic went across the stream at the start of 376A, a lady informed him of a Ford Raptor that was stuck in the mud at the end of the trail. Ah ha! We have a mission. After lots of bumping over bowling ball rocks we found the truck stuck in the middle of a muddy mess of the trail. John, the driver and a fellow Ham operator must of thought that a Raptor culd be a good mud Bogger. We winched the truck back about 20 feet onto hard ground and all was good again. Once we got back out onto the Forest road we decided to check out Gould Gulch road (374). It turned into a nice little trail and there were 5 groups camping in the Gulch. We finished up the night by going out to 24 by way of 67 into Divide and then home.
