Alright folks it’s about that time of year…..let’s see everybody’s LITS(LandCruisers in the snow).
I get awfully jealous living in Vegas…so do me a favor and let’s see your LCs in some white stuff!
🍻

Not much but the first to fall at our house for the season.

Winter seems to be here. The factory tires suck in the snow. Might have to go mount the snow tires this week. Was hoping to hold out until December.

How does it handle the slippery conditions? This will be my first winter with an AWD vehicle.
I didn’t really push on it too hard after my initial instant ABS pulse coming down my hill. I live in a mountain subdivision a mile off pavement. I drop about 300’ in overall elevation in that mile. Once I hit the pavement I didn’t have any slippage. So far it drives how I’d expect it to. Like a taller heavier Subaru. It will be fun to push he limits once the ground freezes and the snow tires are on it.

How do the headlights do in the snow. Do they run hot enough to keep the snow from attaching when driving?
At this time data points are insufficient.

Roads were nasty this morning. 3 vehicles off the road in our subdivision. I’m done with the OEM tires. Open Country WLT1’s installed today in town. 275/70R18

Drove it up to Silverton Ski Area today. 50MPH on snow packed road. Handled very well and predictable. Snow tires contributed a lot to that.

It’s been a pretty dry winter so far but just drove Red Mountain in some of the worst conditions I’ve ever done it. Ice climbing in Ouray this weekend.

The factory tires suck in the snow.

Shocker!

I can’t believe the crap tires Toyota puts on these vehicles. I have 275/70-18 Toyo RT Trails that will be going on my new 1958 the second I get it home from the dealer. They are phenomenal in the snow for a MT/AT hybrid. They are my new “go to” tire for anything 4WD.

Been a super dry year, first storm of 2025 finally brings some winter. Need to dig them out. Going camping tonight with the Boy Scouts.
