follow up to my earlier post as this seems to have come up again. that size on the box in my photo wasn’t right for my 62 wheel. the diameter was good but it was way too wide. i had to cuddle it down and punch holes in it to make it work. search for the correct size (i think you need to order it as a custom size from what i recall from other members here).

i’m put one of those on my fj40! i was super impressed for the price.

Has anyone figured out how to heat a steering wheel in a 60/62?? (Yes, I understand what I just asked).

I’ve been looking into this a little. There are some universal heated kits you’d wrap around the wheel then use something like the wheels kind cover over the top. Run everything through the column and to an unused switch blank.

I've got a synthetic suede cover wrapped on top of an Autozone furry one. The suede cover needed something under it as it was too thick for the wheel buy itself. I bought the suede one on Ebay, Amazon also carries them.

I don't seem to have a better pic of just the wheel at the moment.

Wheelskins is well reviewed. Did you stitch the cover on and, if yes, did it come out okay?
My wife did the stitching, they provide a large, thick needle. Kinda time consuming but it came out great. I've got one also on my Tacoma. Can't recommend enough

so i kind of got a heated steering wheel to work.

the problem is (and maybe because it’s not real cold) i can’t really tell with my hand how warm it is.

the non heated part of my wheel is 17C while the headed part after about 5 minutes is 25C. so while not a huge difference maybe when it’s -25C it’ll be better!! this is about as hot as the material gets based on the website i got it from. so maybe it won’t be super hot but enough for comfort when it’s cold

what i did was use a horn pin for steering wheel power and ran it through an extra defrost switch i have.

i had a brass ring made that fits the back of the steering wheel and wired some carbon cloth under my leather wrap. the ground is through the steering column.
