Hi there, I own a toyota SR5 with a 22RE engine in it. The radiator is leaking water and im not sure where it would be going as there is no dripping out of the bottom..

I was wondering what the likely problem would be. I have been told it may be a crack in the manifold?...but im not really sure.

If this is the case what would the easiest fix be for this problem?

I am not really savy as far as vehicles are concerned so a detailed or dumbed down explenation would be appriciated.

Thanks.

look on the inside of your oil fill cap.
A white milky look points towards a leaking head gasket.

Not necessarily, that just could indicate condensation.

A slow leak in the combustion chamber will be hard to see, larger leak will billow white smoke out of the exhaust.
One way to see if you have a slow leak is to open the radiator cap, start the truck, and see if there are bubbles. Another way is to smell the overflow tank, if it has a headgasket leak you will smell exhaust.
An internal leak can also result in milky oil.
There is also the probability that a worn timing chain has eaten through the timing cover, you will have the milky oil in this instance.
In severe cases of dissemilar metals (cast iron block and aluminum head, timing cover) and corrosion from not properly maintaining the coolant system, I've seen the water passages completely eroded away so a new headgasket or would even fix the leak. This is also true for timing gear covers, when the passages get erroded you ahve to get a new cover.
