Reading through the 2007 SOR catalog....

"...When we arrived in the city we decided to visit San Jose's Top Toyota Dealership, Purdy Toyota.... We were privileged to have a private guided tour of the owner's incredible car collection.... They also had a very rare FJ25 which was said to be the first FJ25 that was imported into Costa Rica. This FJ25 had very low miles and was in very good condition."

Without digging out my old trails magazines wasn't there contest in the nineties where you seen small parts of a cruiser and tried to guess where and what cruiser was? Seems they may have been a claim of ownership also? Believe it turned out to be this gem in Costa Rica. Also a 61 FJ40 from South America was here in the Phoenix area. It was sold on eBay to what I was told was the biggest Toyota dealer in Costa Rica. I know this because the person who sold the 40 didn't include the original soft top bows. Those were sold locally later. Guessing it's the same dealer. If it shows up I have some before pictures.

that was done by the parts place in tennessee, the name is on the tip of my tongue...

in the end, they mentioned it was being stored in a climate controlled building in a bubble.

TPI I think, should have a ole catalog someplace

also correct about the 25

Some questions...........Frame is not car color, black running board tread, pintle with a step, front bumper car color not silver, and the hood prop rod not in the center????

Electric wiper motors, later model clutch and brake masters, and the firewall is body color. Don't read too much into that, I would love to own this Land Cruiser. The wipers do appear to change between the TPI photo and the car show pics. One is mounted lower than the other as well.

The hood appears to be 25. You can see the rivets on the underside of windshield catch.

So am I correct this the TPI and Costa Rica Toyota dealer are one and the same 25? Meaning it's wasn't in the family nor was it unrestored. While I never dealt with them not sure how I would feel about them.
