We camped on the side of the road in Valley of the Gods; this panoramic was taken during sunrise:

Let the MRS do some driving; she did awesome. She took us through a few steep climbs, descents, and one moderately technical section that consisted of an off-camber climb out of a switchback.

I had to get some cooling system work done in Co Springs; called the guys at Redline Cruisers who were able to squeeze me in on short notice, get Toyota OEM parts, and knock out the work. Parked out front was one of their FJ-Utes which is a 4-door "FJ40" styled body they build and throw on an 80 series chassis. They have some cool videos on their facebook page. The thing is a freaking beast.

What an incredible trip, I've spent a lot of time in CO and I miss it. I'd like to see an excursion thread so we can put trips like this on one thread. I'm looking forward to reading more about it. If you share it on FB with LCLC, maybe we can see it there.

I think Redline had everyone drooling when they built the UTE, the best of both worlds.

They should finish @BBQ BOY 's truck this week. Rae and I are eating at a place called Smoke on the Water at Marshall's recommendation - so far so good! Will be driving the 40 home and MAN! The steering WORKS!!!

Installing the factory AC, de-smog, replacing radiator and some other things such as fixing leaks, steering components, temp & fuel gauges and getting windows operable.
