The staring of the car goes well(the starter sound is good) but the firing of the V8 4.5 D) firing of the cylinders may take some more than normal. Any clues?

Probably not since we don't have the Diesel version of the Land Cruisers here... unless someone from Europe wants to chime in?

Could be a dirty fuel filter or air in the system? Try to prime by pumping the plunger on top of the fuel filter before starting.

Hey
i tried to push it. I manage to push two or three times. First time was some air as you said. I fired the car it was good or better than yesthurday.
I drive often from cold to a warm garage in the morning. Using the car only 5 minutes. Maybe its because of this or diesefilter that is messy/diryt.
Do you have Toyota diesel in Philipines?

Yes we have the diesel 200 here. How many km have you got on the fuel filter? Check the manual for the recommended interval. The fuel filters on Toyota diesels have to be replaced regularly.

Take it for a half hour ride to get it hot. Diesels don’t like 5 minute drives as a steady diet.

No engine does, really.

It’s just that modern diesels usually taking longer to reach operating temp means it’s even worse for them.

When i tried again this morning, it was slow. Its like this: The starter is good sound and quick. But after the starter its makes this long fireing sound , like its trying hard to fire all cylinders. Or maybe its trying to fill the cylinders.

I need to check the filter and buy a new one. Im not sure when the filter was last changed, i bought this nov 2019.

I usually hear the relay on the glow plugs kick out when the cylinder temperatures are up for a clean start. If I get in a hurry it behaves like you describe. I have three diesels but not a Toyota diesel so perhaps this does not apply. If the motor is hot, how does it behave?

Relay kick out.. You mean thats the starter is continueing a bit after start? Yes it does at mine
When its hot its no delay

Im usually in a hurry starting but i might take it easy since as you say maybe the glowers / diesel glowers need a bit time after i open the door.

Kick out was merely me saying that the relay reopened and ended the glow plug function. You often hear that
diesels are ignited with compression. Actually, it is heat ignition caused by compression. Glow plugs are good thing.
