It is factory accy install--approved by Toyota but not installed in factory.

I thought most of the OEM winches are factory installed as there are a lot of Landcruisers with them.:meh:

It is impossible to get it in USA from a a regular dealer, but if you know whom to contact it can be in USA in 5 days:hillbilly: The biggest drawback of OEM winch is price tag:crybaby:

I think they are factory installed, or at least installed in Japan. I've seen them driven off the Japan boat onto the car loaders in the UAE and they had the winches already.

I have just intalled my hidden winch but cant share the pics as the forum limited the aount of Kb i could up,oad, anyone would like to do it for me?

There is a difference between "factory installed" and "port installed".

beno you rock thanks for that diagram; Ok I'm not that concerned where its installed but more of the fact that its a toyota part etc. The research and design and the testing is what concerns me. I know I'm on my own with getting the parts etc and warranty stuff but hey its toyota so no warranty is needed. :bounce:

by the way I stillhave a 100 series so i'm shopping for a 200 series. Hey have any of you from the middle east seen a LX570 with a winch setup????

Nope..I have not seen any LX470/570 here with the factory winch. You can spend more time looking at this site or this..to understand the MiddleEast offerings..

Other than the GXR model mentioned in this thread there is no LC200 with a standard factory winch available, at least here in the Middle East. In all models however there is plenty of space available behind the front bumper to mount any type of winch you'd like. The factory standard winch is a 6000LB model which is rather light when pulling a fully loaded vehicle in deep sand.
Using the same mounting points I've fitted a 12000LB model fully concealed behind the original bumper with fairlead access behind the license plate.
Only disadvantage compared with the factory winch is the somewhat cumbersome access to the engage/disengage lever through the hood.
Mounting a winch of this size comes with considerable weight, you will need heavier springs in the front to keep the vehicle level.

Hey Beno do you have access to the same pic skematic for the LX570? They should share same frame points etc yes?

Has anyone looked into the Aluminum skid plates? Normally how thick (mm) are the steel plates available in the market? I got a quote from Rival 4x4 Russia for LC200 skid plates - 3 pieces - 4mm - Aluminum - 350$ - what do you guys suggest?
see pics .. they provided,. [rivalautomotive.com]

For skid plates you can contact Dream Team Car in France. They made a large range of aluminium (8mm for front and gearbox and transfert box skid plate and 6mm for the tank protection).
I dońt have any picture of it on my computer but you can visit the website.

Got around to install the Fly Audio Nav unit for LC200, with two cameras [front & rear]. the unit runs on WinCE and has a SD slot. Currently I have 4 nav packages on my SD card and I can run any upon choice...iGO, Sygic, Navitel & Garmin XT.. trying to configure Garmin further, to be used with Desert maps etc. The front cam is an amazing add-on and can be left ON while driving. Rear cam installing was a bit tricky with my rear mounted wheel, so the technician had to move it further right. the unit has BT/ipod/usb connectors too. Cost ~ 800$ with 1yr warranty.
